Just posted that on Facebook. Been thinking about it for a few weeks. Probably longer. I think I can keep up a monthly schedule with some small changes in the format.  Mostly the elimination of the forum postings which tend to be keyboard intensive. Ironically that was the reason I started the podcast, an audio version of the FRN postings. I need to get a (ahem) project out in the next couple weeks (you may hear it this spring if one were to know such things) Then I can start looking at a piratesweek schedule. But if I write it down here, then it will force me to at least try.

Our Darwin problem is really a science problem. The easier it becomes to depict the scientific enterprise as a special interest immersed in the culture wars, the easier it becomes to reject scientific findings. We see this everywhere in American culture and politics today, from the anti-vaccine movement to the repeated assertion that global warming is a deliberate “hoax” rather than a straightforward conclusion driven by reams of scientific data. Sometimes this is done for deliberate political reasons, to secure advantage for a particular industry or financial group, but just as often it is motivated by fear of the implications of what science has discovered or might discover in the future.

I would love to bring back the Piratesweek. I really miss it, but the 4 or 5 hours it takes I just cant justify. I am just now to the point were I can play a bit on the key board, but only for short bursts. But the new found time has left time for (cough) “other radio oriented pursuits”.  With a little luck (and propagation) I’ll share more on that in the months to come.

I’ll probably find uses for it, I guess in the grand sceme of thing I aint done yet, but damn, I should of done all this years ago.

Anyway RFPrograms, Piratesweek and ShortwavePirate have all been condensed into one space. and all the misc storage has been organised.  Call it winter house cleaning.
